Silverton Summer Youth Program:

Pre-registration for the Silverton Summer Youth Program will take place on June 6^th from 5-7pm at the Children’s Theatre Space at 951 Greene Street.  Come meet the interns for the year, enroll in the summers activities and enjoy some refreshments.

The Silverton Summer Youth Program (SSYP) serves the town of Silverton and visitors with reliable childcare for eight weeks during the summer season.  Children receive quality arts instruction with emphasis in theatre, fine arts, dance, storytelling and recreation. 

·         Fridays are designated as field trip/enrichment days where children visit various sites throughout the Southwestern Colorado region.  The program concludes with a showcase and picnic for all participants and parents, in addition to a full production in the A Theatre Group’s New Artists Series. This year’s production will be The Lion the Witch and the Wardrobe by C.S. Lewis. The cast includes all SSYP participants, professional actors, college interns and community members.

·         ATG employs five college interns who major in theater to instruct children ranging in age from 5-12.  Junior intern positions are available to teens ranging in age from 13-19.  Junior interns receive advanced theatre training, while serving as counselors and mentors to the younger children.   

·         Camp Hours: 9 a.m. -3 p.m. Tuesday through Friday

·         Pre-registration begins in May stay tuned for specific time

·         Fees: $320.00 for each child and Family rate of $130.00 for each additional child

·         Camp Begins on June 8^th and completes on July 31, 2010

·         Visiting Children: $30.00 per day or $100.00 per week

·         (Camp includes a supervised lunch and two snack periods (SSYP will provide juice and snacks.)
