Staged readings are a cornerstone of A Theatre Group’s New Artist Series. Writers work in development with visual artists, musicians, professional actors, local community members and college interns studying theatre. The series culminates in a week of staged readings and performances, followed by talkback sessions with panelists, actors and members of the community.
ATG believes in supporting the relationship between the professional, emerging, and community artist. Each has equal value, and each mutually informs artistic growth.
Four authors are be presented by ATG this season. Each evening will follow a familiar pattern: First the presentation, perhaps with remarks. After a short break and reorganization, there will be a talkback session with the authors, performers and audience members contributing.
The first three presentations will be Thursday, July 21st through Saturday, July 23rd at the Silverton Public Library, 1111 Reese Street. The presentations will begin at 7:00pm each evening. During the break ATG will provide light refreshments.
Thursday, Desiree Henderson will present a new Performance Art Piece. This is a new art form for ATG.
Friday, M.N. Norton an experienced novelist will present her first play I See A Light.
Saturday, Randy Wyatt an experienced playwright will present a play currently in development, Black Friday.
