Desiree Henderson, Performance Art Piece

Thursday, July 21st, at 7:00pm down stairs in the Public Library, 1111 Reese Street, Desiree Henderson will present an original Performance Art Piece.
Following the performance there will be a short break for light refreshments. The seating will be rearranged for a more informal talkback session with the author, performers and audience.
Desiree Henderson has studied writing and directing for theatre since High School. Her first professional writing assignment was an adaptation of the poetry of Elizabeth Ingraham , entitled Skins, for a run of performances at La Mama Experimental Theatre Club in New York. Her first original piece, Shattered Ice, was produced in 2006 at Fort Lewis College. In 2008 she wrote an adaptations of Dante Alghieri’s The Inferno for Fort Lewis College and last year an adaptation of Goethe’s The Four Temperaments in Seattle. Also last year she collaborated with Amelia Charter, a performance artist based in Denver, to write an original performance piece for the Peer Theatre Project at Fort Lewis College.
